Neurons can be classified based on their structure into the following three types:
- Multipolar neurons
- Bipolar neurons
- Unipolar neurons
Compare the structure of these different types of neurons and draw labelled diagrams representing each. Give examples of where each type of neuron can be found in the body.
Topic 2
Neurotransmitters can be classified into the following three types:
- Excitatory neurotransmitters
- Inhibitory neurotransmitters
- Modulatory neurotransmitters
Compare the function of each class of neurotransmitter and give examples of each.
Topic 3
Research how the nervous system is affected by substances such as caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, painkillers, antidepressants and sedatives.
