Total Energy

  • All objects possess energy. In fact, they possess several different types of kinetic and potential energy.
  • For example:
  • All objects possess thermal energy, even very cold ones, because all matter is composed of moving particles.
  • All objects emit some form of radiant energy.
  • All objects possess nuclear energy, since all matter is made up of atoms.
  • The sum of all kinetic and potential energy that an objects contains is known as total energy.
